2 Safe Routes to School Grants in Center Grove |

It is with great pleasure to tell you that Center Grove will soon be building 2 new trails! These are both federal grants for the Safe Routes to School program. The first project was awarded in 2008 and is in Brentridge Estates to connect a trail to Center Grove Elementary School and the Middle School. The other project was awarded last year and will build a large pedestrian bridge over the creek just east of the CG Administration Building on Stones Crossing Rd. Our non-profit will once again be applying for a 3rd SRTS grant to help supplement the first 2 grants above. The original trail route to the elementary school was extended and therefore costing more to construct. Our group will help with the county government in getting letters of support for this 3rd grant. Once these trails are built, Center Grove Trails, Inc. will offer to build amenities and work with local groups to enhance the trails. Thanks for your support. |

Show your support for trails by purchasing a trails license plate! Simply go to www.mybmv.com and click on the specialty plates-look for the Greenways Foundation plate. It is with sadness that we inform our trail supporters we will not be holding our Annual 5K Run/Walk this June. We appreciate all those that have participated in previous years and also we want to thank the White River Township Fire Department and their Annual Strawberry Festival for helping bring the 5K Run/Walk to our township. We are short on volunteers for this event and we would like to open up our nonprofit board to expand with additional board members.
